Otherskin: In the Skin of Aliens [VIDEO]

Game Atelier and FDG Entertainment are developing a “transformative” third-person shooter set on the alien planet of Vandermire.

Join Alex on her deadly solo mission to uncover the secrets of Planet Vandermire. Experience a truly transformative TPS and absorb organic abilities to expand your combat and movement capabilities beyond anything you’ve seen before. The entire universe is at stake. Vandermire, the ancestral home of the extinct Magna species, is suspected to be the source of the ever-expanding Corruption; a universal threat to all life in the universe.

Alex is “lucky” number 13 of volunteer space crusaders willing to risk their lives in deadly solo expeditions to the planet’s surface. Mission Exodus equips individuals with a unique high-tech AI suit in order to gather as much information as possible before falling to the Corruption. It is hoped that with each attempt, scientists can increase the survival time on the surface and find a solution to contain the Corruption.

As Alex explores the planet, each enemy encounter can change your experience! Absorbing alien “morphs” will give you new moves and powers that can literally turn the world upside down. Upgrade your suit’s powers to maximize weapon impact, life support, and combat agility. The high-tech suit includes an AI voice to help Alex on her journey. Use your most powerful ranged weapons and combine them with fast melee moves. Switching between them is easy. Vandermire is full of diverse biomes. Explore every corner of this beautiful but dangerous alien world to gather more information about the origins of the Corruption.

Game Atelier’s game is not called Otherskin for nothing. It’s scheduled to be released by publisher FDG Entertainment for PC (Steam) in Q4, sometime between October and December. No console version of the game is currently planned, so there are no plans at this time for it to make it to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series at a later date.
