Homefront: The Revolution received a six and a half minute long gameplay video – this was directly recorded off from the playable demo at Gamescom. It’s interesting to see another female character bossing around a team – it’s getting regular -, but the meat of the game is the same: American rebels teaming up against the totalitarian, military dictatorship of North Koreans. This was the same thing in the first game four years ago developed by Kaos Studios and published by THQ – now, it’s made by Dambuster Studios under the leadership of Deep Silver.
The game looks promising judging by this demo, because it’s brave enough to put Americans in a tough situation (kinda rare to see that in games), but eventually they win (and this is often times happening), but seeing a dystopian, almost impossible scenario makes it an intriguing game in the end. Because of this, the game will divide people. Will it be an issue? Probably not: if the sales are good, Deep Silver will likely order a third game, if not, they will focus on Dead Island 2. Speaking of, who is developing that right now…?
