Promised PlayStation 4 features are coming says Sony

When the PlayStation 4 was announced more than a year ago, Sony promised a bunch of features that are yet to be implemented in the next-gen console.

For example, Sony said that players will be able to put the PlayStation 4 to sleep while playing a game, and quickly resume later on. This feature isn’t yet implemented to the PS4.

Another feature that Sony showcased back in February 2013 during the PS4 unveiling, was the ability to have a friend take over a game via the Internet. If a player was stuck at a particular point and a friend was watching the live stream, they could take over and play the game remotely. This also has yet to be seen in the console.

Sony has said that they are working to implement these features. Sony’s Shuhei Yoshida said that they are working on it, but that the features aren’t ready yet. He said, “There are some things that we announced in February of last year that were not planned for the launch time frame.”

These two particular features are ones that Sony hasn’t talked about since the PlayStation 4 unveiling. We’ve been getting several PS4 updates, lots of new features (such as video) editing, but not one mention of the sleep mode gameplay resume or the remote gameplay possibility.
