Pre-Orders of Limited Edition Destiny cancelled due to demand

Retailer Best Buy is notifying some consumers via email that their shop is cancelling pre-orders of the Destiny Limited Edition due to supply shortages.

An email, which you can see below was sent to an unknown number of Best Buy customers states that the popularity of the Destiny Limited Edition exceeded the quantities made available to Best Buy. The retailer is offering affected customers with a $50 store credit and they also suggest that to instead of the Limited Edition they should pre-order the Digital Guardian Edition or the Standard Edition.

The latest cancellations from Best Buy follows Walmart’s pre-order cancellations of the Ghost Edition last month due to stock shortages. The limited production run Ghost Edition is sold out at most retailers, with copies appearing on eBay for up to $1,000.
