DriveClub PS Plus version delayed indefinitely

DriveClub has so far been rather disappointing – not really the game itself, rather the problem related to the net issues. The game was supposed to be the first exclusive racing game for the PS4, but in fact, the game was released with not working multiplayer and a bit generic gameplay.

Also the PS Plus version of the game, which is a lesser version with limited cars and tracks, was supposed to be released for free to all PS Plus members. However, because of server problems, Sony delayed this cut-down version.

Unfortunately we cannot bring you brighter news either. It was recently announced that that DriveClub PS Plus version is in fact delayed “until further notice”, which means that it’s delayed indefinitely.

Sony’s Shuhei Yoshida explained to PlayStation 4 players about the delay and the problems with DriveClub:

“With the high volume of new players and additional server load the PS Plus Edition is anticipated to bring, we are currently not confident that we can guarantee the best online experience. Until we can ensure that everyone can enjoy the full social connected online experience, we will be postponing the release of the PS Plus Edition until further notice.”

Actually it isn’t surprising that Sony is delaying the PS Plus version. If the game can’t support the current players who actually paid $60 for the game, it’ll only get worse once the onslaught of PS Plus players comes.

Hopefully DriveClub’s problems will get sorted out soon. It’s a shame that DriveClub is in this situation, because the game is rather good and nice looking car racing game.
