More than 800,000 units of PlayStation 4 sold in Japan

Media Create has wrote that in Japan more than 800,000 units of PS4 were sold.

DualShockers received an image of the graph demonstrating that PS4 sales in Japan are now at 809,074 units. PlayStation 4 is on its 40th week of being on sale.ps4pro.eu_playstation-_PS4_Sales_1Sony’s console had a decent launch last February in Japan when it sold over 300,000 units in its first week. After that excellent start, sales have been averaging over 10,000 or so units per week since then.

About nine months after, the PS4 has already crossed the 800,000 unit mark. We can expect that with the upcoming Holiday season, the console will probably sell over 1 million units in Japan.

The PlayStation 4 actually crossed the 1 million mark in Germany just a few weeks ago. Germany also was in the frontline since the console came out in November 2013 as opposed to the February 2014 release in Japan.

Concerning Japan: PlayStation 4 sales will probably spike when more Japanese developed games are released for the console in 2015. Games like Bloodborne, Final Fantasy Type-0 HD and Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain are sure to increase interest in the console in Japan.

From a worldwide standpoint, close to 14 million people now own the PS4.
