Sony pulls ads from FIFA matches due to cuts at marketing expenses

While Sony’s gaming division seems to be the only part that’s able to make a profit, the company is still cutting some marketing expenses.Their latest cut is in the form of advertisements from FIFA matches (Champions League and World Cups).

As most of you noticed the PlayStation brand and Sony brand is constantly advertised on the sidelines of FIFA matches. However the contract for these ads will run out on December 31, 2014. Another reason but it’s purely a rumor is the recent corruption scandals that have plagued FIFA

The contract was from 2005 and an eight years worth $277 million in sponsorship, and it’s not suprising that they made such a cut. Since only their gaming division turned a profit.
