Liu Kang was always one of the most famous Mortal Kombat monk, also due to the fact he is the protagonist of the films and a loved character of the game for its first decade. Kung Lao first appeared in Mortal Kombat II, and he has been indispensable in the series, appearing in most of the games (including 2011’s Mortal Kombat) and he was also the co-lead in Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks. Now we know for fact via a magazine scan that Kung Lao will appear in the upcoming Mortal Kombat X.

Thanks to his deadly hat, Lao’s fatality is unquestionably one of the most legendary (and brutal) in the franchise. Although not appearing in the films, he was a player in season 2 of Mortal Kombat Legacy.
