We already reported that Kung Lao is returning to Mortal Kombat, and series creator Ed Boon has a lot of fun with the actual reveal trailer.

Pelaaja, the Finnish games which previewed Mortal Kombat X, has shown an image about an older Kung Lao, the hat-throwing Shaolin monk, by that name.

Now, you may recall Kung Lao was a bit deadish after the end of the story in 2011’s Mortal Kombat, but such minor things as being dead has never stopped a character’s return to a video game or movie.

Fans started to tweet at Boon to ask information about the fate of Kung Lao and he decided to give it to them, releasing a Kung Lao “trailer,” above and pretend-denying his return. When confronted by a fan with a scan of the Finnish magazine and asked for an explanation, Boon replied, “Uh … gimme a minute ….” So here you go! A “trailer” from Ed Boon, the troll, haha!
