Major content to be released for Destiny fall 2015

According to Activision we can expect a major content release for Destiny fall 2015. Eric Hirshberg, the publishing CEO of Activision made the confirmation during Activision’s earnings call. He confirmed that indeed House of Wolves won’t be the only Destiny content launching in 2015, and that something much more important will be released as well.

“In Q2, we expect to launch the game’s second expansion pack, House of Wolves, and later this year, we will announce a major content release for the fall, so stay tuned,” he said. “And a very robust pipeline planned after that.”

This is in perfect approach with Bungie and Activision’s 10-year contract, and the massive leak from late last year. The contract obliges Bungie to release a new Destiny game every-other-year. In-between years we will receive “Comet” releases, which are actual expansions that contain new areas, story missions, raids, strikes, and multiplayer maps.

According to the leak from last year, that this expansion will be called “Plague of Darkness,” and focus on the Hive. Rumored content includes three new subclasses (one for each class), two new weapon types, a new base level, and a new location called “Hive Ship.” All this information should be taken with a grain of salt until Bungie and Activision make announcements, which probably won’t be until E3 2015.
