Red Dead Redemption, an open world game – which is only available on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 – by Rockstar San Diego, has been out for more than five years, but it has great sales according to Take Two Interactive: they say the game revitalized the western games, plus its expansion (Undead Nightmare) was commercially successful as well.
Only released on the two aforementioned consoles, Red Dead Redemption sold over 14 millio copies – we wonder how the sales would have gone if it would have been released on the PC as well. It might have gone over 17-18 million. But the question is, is this game going to receive a current generation rerelease? In this case, it would make sense, because those who haven’t owned consoles earlier would get a chance to play this great game. Sure, there is going to be backwards compatibility, but only on the Xbox One at the moment.
Could it be that Rockstar is working on it silently after Grand Theft Auto V? GTA 6 is unlikely to show up for a few more years, Max Payne is likely to not be continued as well as LA Noire, not to mention Bully. Sure, there’s Midnight Club, but the last game in the series was released like six years ago…
I think they should to release a new episode for Red Dead Redemption…
