Ubisoft has pulled an unexpected move off: they announced that they will build a ten thousand square metres big, „next-generation” theme park called Ubisoftland – it will be built in the capital of Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur. Previously, they already had success in this, as the French Futuroscope had a ride called Rabbids Dark Ride, made by Ubisoft Motion Pictures. This group will cooperate with RSG (co-owner and co-developer of Movie Animation Park Studios), and their idea is „creating a place where every guest is a player, every ride is a playground, every visit is a game”. The Rabbids, Just Dance and Assassin’s Creed franchises will all be featured in Ubisoftland, but honestly, we would not be surprised if somehow they included Watch Dogs too.
“RSG is committed to redefining family fun, and video games have taken an increasingly central role in entertainment for all ages,” said Ramelle Ramli, Chairman of RSG. “Partnering with Ubisoft means we’ll work with their creative teams to develop the first of what we believe will be a revolutionary new theme park experience.”
Ubisoftland will open in 2020. Will other publishers follow suit? It’d be hilarious, if Activision made a theme park and it would feature a Call of Duty ride?
