Unsurprisingly, Electronic Arts and DICE officially announced the Drop Zone mode, which was already mentioned in the beta announcement – although back then, they did say that Drop Zone will be detailed later on. It happened, and we’re getting what we kinda were expecting.
In this game mode, do not expect 20v20 matches – Drop Zone will have 8v8 battles. In Drop Zone, the focus will be on the drop pods, that will all fall from the atmosphere onto the maps. In the ten minute matches, the goal is to rule all five pods, or more than the rival team to win.
If one pod keeps changing ownership before getting claimed, another one will be dropped to avoid the stalemate status. The aim is to have quick thinking and defend the poods… because these will have power pickups. Is it worth to stay nearby to claim the reward? Because there will be another one dropped when a pod is claimed.
Star Wars Battlefront will launch on November 17 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, and there’s going to be an open beta in October before release.
