Yakuza 5‘s localized version is pretty much like a Yeti: we heard about it here and there, but we haven’t seen much of it in real life. We’re closer and closer to the end of 2015, while the release date was pushed back multiple times as well. However, SEGA and Sony have finally stepped up to the plate and announced a somewhat fixed release date for Yakuza 5, which has been out in Japan for almos three years now…
Now SEGA announced that the North American (and hopefully the European as well!) launch will happen in mid-November. The delay has a technical reason for that: the Japanese-to-English text and the localization team wasn’t perfectly fit together and the source code was needed to be looked into. And of course, that needed a lot of time… and therefore, this delay happened. Hopefully the textbugs are now all gone!
Let’s hope that you didn’t box your PlayStation 3 away, because this is pretty much the final big exclusive title for the console! It will only be available in digital format, and for pre-orderers, it will be slightly cheaper (you can read about it more here). Take it as a survey to see if there is an interest in Yakuza 6’s, 0’s, or 1 Kiwami’s (PlayStation 4-remake of the first title) localization.
