Shenmue: The first two games might see a PS4 release

While Shenmue 3 is in development big time (and according to Yu Suzuki, it might not run at 60 frames per second), a logical question might arise in many: what about the first two games, will these be available for modern platforms? SEGA‘s European Marketing Director has talked about the possibilities.

According to Jon Rooke, SEGA wants to remind players of why they fell in love with the Shenmue franchise one and a half decades ago on the SEGA Dreamcast. So he pretty much confirmed that they want to re-release the games. We do have to add that Shenmue III is going to be out on PlayStation 4 and PC, so a logical step would be to see the first two titles on these two platforms. Maybe they will be out before the third game, as a way to warm us up for the big attraction.

Seeing how SEGA has formerly moved the Sonic Adventure games out of the Dreamcast to other platforms in the previous generation, it would be a logical move to do the same with the first two Shenmue games as well. Who knows, they might even announce them soon!
