During Paris Game Week, both in-progress fighting games got major importance: Capcom’s Street Fighter V (which is now confirmed to be launch on February 16!) and Bandai Namco’s Tekken 7 both were featured on Sony’s presentation.
In fact, both franchise’s bosses, namely Yoshinori Ono and Katsuhiro Harada were also on the podium, in fact, they pulled off a joke transition between the two games, when the new SF V fighter was announced to be Harada:
Tekken 7 wasn’t joking around though – Tekken celebrates its twentieth birthday, so we got to see a bit of recap of the games as well (but why were the PS1 recordings so… blurry?), and in the end, we can see the Mishima family members fighting each other. Father-son, husband-wife battles are all bound to happen in Tekken 7, which will use Unreal Engine 4, and the game is now confirmed to launch on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One as well.
The PS4 version will have exclusive content (no idea what it will be though), plus it will also get PlayStation VR-support. (Bandai Namco also plans a PC port, and they should do it if they don’t want to be left behind SF V, as that game is definitely launching on the PC too.)
Can we finally get to Tekken X Street Fighter?
