Funcom released The Park just weeks ago on PC. This horror game is labeled as a success by them, and now, they announced that the game will be receiving a PlayStation 4 and Xbox One ports. The problem is, they only gave a launch window and not a concrete launch date. They also didn’t announce sales numbers, so we have no idea what „success” means to Funcom…
The Park will attack the two current-gen consoles in the first quarter of 2016. In this game, we control Lorraine, whose son disappears. Therefore, she will have to go to the Atlantic Island Park to find her child. The best part is that Funcom‘s last console release was a whopping nine years ago, as it was Dreamfall: The Longest Journey in 2006. It’ll be interesting to see their return to consoles.
We appreciate this announcement, but somehow, we feel that The Park will eventually receive PlayStation VR support. It might happen if the game gets good sales. Funcom‘s strategy is focusing on smaller and experimental game due to their weak financial status. Maybe The Park is the beginning of their revolution.
