The Last of Us Easter egg in Firewatch! [VIDEO]

Sweatshirts of the University of Eastern Colorado! That is a nod from Campo Santo, the devs of Firewatch, towards Naughty Dog‘s The Last of Us; this game had that university. As both games are located in the United States, the reference makes sense except for the university as it doesn’t exist in Firewatch.

The video below features a dialogue between Henry and Delilah (the two characters of Firewatch) about the sweatshirts without directly mentioning neither The Last of Us nor Naughty Dog. However, Henry does say „one of the girls.” If you don’t know the game, this Easter egg would simply fly over your head (that would be a shame; The Last of Us is an excellent game!), but for others, the green-gold colors and the animal on the sweatshirt would be familiar.

Firewatch launched on PS4 and PC on February 9. While we don’t have an excellent opinion about Campo Santo‘s game, we still think it’s a decent title. We might find a few more secrets if we return to explore the forest!

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
