Sony Xperia goes into our ears

Sony is also part of the smartphone industry and they finally started to turn this arm of theirs around last quarter with a positive result. They revealed a new gadget. Xperia Ear is something that might become widely popular in the future, as this device allows owners to control their phones without actually its touchscreen while also providing notifications. The Xperia Ear was presented on the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

As with Bluetooth headsets, the Xperia Ear needs to be in our ear to work. Sony plans to expand the device further than the Xperia tablets and phones. It has a proximity sensor that notifies the Android phone that it’s in the users ear with a wireless connection.

We can do internet searches, dictate messages, get weather forecasts, information about missed calls with just voice commands. Battery life is around 3.5 hours of active usage but Sony says it should be enough for most people.

The Xperia Ear‘s success is only depending on how many applications will support it.
