An important designer from the Diablo team left Blizzard for Obsidian! A New Fallout Game in preparation?

Obsidian was the team behind Fallout New Vegas a few years ago. They got another veteran developer to join them. In a sense, Diablo 3‘s lead designer, Leonard Boyarsky is coming home!

Boyarsky was previously the art director of the original Fallout back in 1997. His move away from Blizzard was mentioned by Timothy Cain as well. He was one of the essential people behind Fallout as he was the producer, lead programmer and one of the main designers. The two have worked together in the past on the first two Fallout titles and Vampire: The Masquerade, too.

Leonard Boyarsky‘s departure from Blizzard was also confirmed by Obsidian‘s official Twitter account as well. They are working on an RPG called Tyranny, but they have also stated that they would also like to make a follow-up to Fallout 4 similar to Fallout 3’s New Vegas. As we don’t know what Boyarsky’s role is at Obsidian, it’s very suspicious that they might have silently started development already…

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
