Fuze’s Tomahawk F1 was already a surprise when it received a press presentation in Beijing. The Android console that looks like a PlayStation 4, has a user interface similar to the PS4’s, and have a controller that is a carbon copy of Xbox One’s, was just one new addition. There’s another entry to the market but think about it differently.
Tencent is the other company that wants to take a slice of the console market – the name might be familiar to those who play League of Legends. The Chinese company bought LoL’s developers Riot Games! The console is called TGP Box (Tencent Games Platform), which has a 6th-gen Intel Core processor, plus a Windows 10 operating system. The console has a TGP Box mode, which allows it to download and stream games, such as League Of Legends, FIFA Online 3, Monster Hunter Online, NBA 2K Online, or Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit Tournament. All these games were brought to Asia by Tencent, but there are more third-party titles heading to the TGP Box shortly.
We don’t know yet if Tencent will sell the TGP Box in the West.
