UPDATE: Nioh didn’t leave the opportunity of Tokyo Game Show behind; the game got a new, Japanese trailer.
William’s, the protagonist’s ship gets destroyed by a leviathan, and after a ton of combat scenes, we see a giant spider show up. Yes. A giant spider. (At least it’s not an octopus!)
Nioh will launch on February 9, exclusively on the PlayStation 4.
ORIGINAL: Tecmo Koei and Team Ninja finally revealed when Nioh, which has been dubbed as the „Japanese Dark Souls,” will arrive in its final version in stores and the PlayStation Store.
The action-RPG, which seems to have its protagonist take physical cues from Geralt of The Witcher fame, will arrive on February 9, 2017, worldwide on PlayStation 4. While it’s not the 2016 timeframe, we have hoped for, at least Nioh is finishing up development thirteen years (!) after its announcement! (Indeed, the game was first mentioned in 2004!)
In case you crave for something similar to Dark Souls III, you might be interested in Team Ninja‘s new game. In case you don’t know much about this title, check out the four-hour (!) long gameplay video from the beta below. The game will include multiple historical figures.
We wouldn’t be surprised if Tecmo Koei drops another beta later this year; they had an alpha and a beta test in the past four months.
