Despite 3D or new graphics, retro is still winning.
While Sonic Mania is supposed to launch shortly, that game is entirely concentrated on retro even with its graphics. The other, the bigger Sonic title for this year, Sonic Forces, is aiming higher than its little brother: in this game, the blue hedgehog will have a classic variant as well, and where else can SEGA market him than on the first game’s first stage, Green Hill Zone? SEGA hasn’t been in the console market for 1.5 decades, but at least it tries to stand its ground with its games.
We get to see Green Hill Zone again… making the marketing a bit of annoyance. What about other stages? What else can we expect? What gameplay elements will Sonic Forces contain?
Maybe (!) we get some answers during E3. The game is out during the end-year game rush on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
