Final Fantasy VII Remake: Development Shifts Focus

We seem to start understanding why Square Enix might take until 2020 to be done with Final Fantasy VII Remake.

Gematsu reports that the developers throw their old rules out the window. Instead of externally collaborating with others, they want to focus on internal development, which means CyberConnect2 (developers of several Naruto games), who was confirmed to be participating in making Final Fantasy VII Remake, could be cut out of the project.

The announcement was done by Naoki Hamaguchi, project lead of the remake. He previously worked as lead programmer on Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII. With this tidbit, it makes sense why Square Enix is recruiting more people to work on the game: they want to release the best possible product without others being involved.

However, the development could take longer than before due to this change of approach.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
