A modification behind the scenes could explain why you slip off the edges of the platform.
Dig Dong explained on Twitter in a video how there is a significant difference between the three original PS1 games developed by Naughty Dog and the Vicarious Visions-developed PlayStation 4 trilogy. TastyCarcass also explained on Reddit how there is a change.
Let’s start with the latter: he believes that Crash and Coco has a pill-shaped 3D model, unlike a box shape on the PS1 – they can extend the jump, but the downside is that they would fall off the edges of the platform – on the PS1, it almost never happened. The former person explains in the video how Crash lands faster from a jump than on the original PS1, but he also slips further a bit every single time he lands on the same platform.
A technical issue, or just some extra challenge?
the reason jumps feel harder in the n.sane trilogy isn’t really due to falling a bit faster but because collisions can be wonky upon landing pic.twitter.com/jxbvijNU6c
