The Last Of Us Is So Popular, A Series Referenced It!

Naughty Dog’s game’s success cannot be denied.

The series, that made a reference to the adventures of Joel and Ellie is none other, than Game of Thrones! In the Dragonstone episode, roughly 22.5 minutes in, Jaime Lannister says the following line: „We’re the last of us.” This sentence means he and her sister Cerciel are the last Lannisters, except for Tyrion, who switched sides. Is it a coincidence? No: series’ producer and writer, David Benioff openly stated that it was a reference to The Last of Us. He also said that Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, the actor of Jaime Lannister, does resemble Joel, which made him write the script to include that line.

It’d now be a logical step to give Joel’s role in The Last of Us cinematic adaptation to Coster-Waldau.
