Nintendo Is Being Taken To Court!

Gamevice is the one behind this lawsuit.

Why is Gamevice suing the big N? Well, the accessory manufacturing company believes that Nintendo has copied their product seen on the Wikipad with the Switch’ design. On Engadget, you can read that the Wikipad is an Android gaming tablet, and Gamevice made clip-on controllers. Check the two designs below for yourself.

Gamevice wants Nintendo to pay, as well as take the Switch off the shelves. There’s a slight difference here, though, which could make the judge laugh while ruling in favor of Nintendo: the Joy-Cons of the Switch slip right into the Switch, while the Wikipad controllers can be clipped on. This difference is significant, and let’s add Nintendo’s prototype Wii U GamePad from 2012 into the mix.

Gamevice has close to no chance to win this lawsuit – even if they did, players around the world would be brutal against them, as the Switch sells like hotcakes and it is about to get a few major exclusives in the autumn, too.
