Koei Tecmo has answered the question regarding the support of the stronger consoles with the new Dynasty Warriors.
Akihiro Suzuki, the producer, talked with DualShockers, and he said that they would follow NiOh’s example. That game was setting the trend for giving the players an option: they could choose between resolution or performance. The PlayStation 4 Pro and the Xbox One X will also have this „switch” – you can either go for a dynamic adaptive resolution (up to 4K) with thirty frames per second or just go for 60 FPS at the cost of a lower resolution. This approach is fair, as it doesn’t force players to just stick to one option when there’s another one on the table.
Suzuki also answered the Nintendo Switch question: he said that the team is not planning a Switch port at the moment, which likely means that they’ll first wait for the game to launch on the other platforms and then see how it (as well as the Switch) sells, and then do one at a later time.
Dynasty Warriors 9 is out in early 2018 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
