The creator of Uncharted explains why individual games are canceled

“Is someone going to buy it instead of watching someone else play it on YouTube?”

The outstanding creative Amy Hennig, the person in charge of the Uncharted saga, has spoken with the Polygon portal in the framework of her Year in Review about her opinion about the recent cancellation of several individual video games that seem to indicate that the industry is turning towards video games as a service.

“There is a current line that seems to encourage many people to say to themselves,` Why are they canceling linear games based on stories? They are the kind of games I want, ‘”Hennig says, offering a very blunt response:” Because people they do not buy them, many prefer to see people play them online. ”

“When you spend millions on an individual game, many may not perceive it as a long-term investment.” The question is, is someone going to buy it instead of watching someone else play it on YouTube?” asked the Mother of titles like Uncharted.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
