Cory Barlog, the game’s writer and director, clearly stated God of War‘s post-release situation.
On Twitter, a fan asked a simple question: will this game have a Season Pass? Barlog’s reply was to the point: „No season pass.” He also moved into answering some story questions, but we wouldn’t like to go into them, as that would be somewhat spoiling the events of the game. However, Barlog also said that he played through God of War again. It means that the game’s basics are already set in stone.
What about the release date? He didn’t want to talk about it, but we’ll quote part of his reply: „With all the awesome games set to come out in 2018, I think it will be safe to tell your boss you will need to take the year off!” Of course, this is just joking, but he’s full of confidence regardless.
God of War, which has been in development at least since 2014, will thus be a complete experience out of the box without any of that DLC jazz. When was the last time we had a similar situation? God of War will launch later this half of the year, exclusively on PlayStation 4.

No season pass. As for the story questions – you will have to wait and play the game to see how it all shakes out. I just finished another play-through last night around midnight and it was still awesome! I’m totally biased, though.
