WCCFTech learned more than the option between 1080p/60fps and 4k/30fps from Akihiro Suzuki, producer at Omega Force, the developers of the Dynasty Warriors series. He said that they used checkerboard rendering for the 4K resolution on the PlayStation 4 Pro. In other words, it will be upscaled.

The Xbox One X will use hardware scaling on 1440p to achieve 4K, and the PC port will not support ultrawide (21:9) resolutions. The PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One will thus use separate approaches to achieve that 4K resolution…

Koei Tecmo also released a Japanese gameplay video, which is called „Playing Around in the Open World.” Indeed, the new Dynasty Warriors game will be an open-world title, which is a first for the franchise. We’re curious to see how the devs managed to avoid repetition aside from killing thousands of enemies.

The game will launch on February 13 in North America and Europe on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
