The Surge 2: How Will It Improve Over Its Predecessor?

The Surge was a surprisingly enjoyable game last year, so seeing the devs of Lords of the Fallen make a sequel isn’t surprising.

WCCFTech cites two European online publications, who interviewed Jan Klose, the creative director, and Adam Hetenyi, Deck 13’s head of game design. They told a few new details regarding The Surge 2, which was just briefly announced, to Hobby Consolas and Everyeye.

The duo revealed that the sequel would have a different protagonist, as we will be capable of creating our custom character. Warren, the first game’s main character, will show up in The Surge 2, but we have yet to see how he will do so. The sequel will be set in a large city with interconnected regions, and we’ll have a lot of side quests, as well as NPCs – some of them will be hostile towards us.

The AI and the game difficulty will both see an increase… so The Surge 2 will be harder than the first game! The enemies will adapt to our actions, and they will also form groups as well to make our life difficult. There will be a new enemy type without an exoskeleton – it will try to steal our armor and weapons. Oh no…

The Surge 2 will launch in 2019 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. It’s likely going to be out at E3… or at Gamescom, seeing how the developers are German!
