Battlefield 2018: Is It Going To Follow Call Of Duty’s Approach?

Multiple rumors surfaced regarding this year’s Battlefield.

VentureBeat kicked March off in fashion. They are writing about the next Battlefield, as this franchise is taking this year’s fight against Call of Duty, not Star Wars: Battlefront. The game is going to be called Battlefield V, but it was known as Battlefield 2 internally for a while. It’s going to be set in the second World War (nine years after the launch of Battlefield 1943!), which means the tides are turning: in 2016, Battlefield 1 went back to the first World War, which made Call of Duty in 2017 go to the second one, and now, it’s Battlefield’s turn to respond…

The game is NOT going to be an updated version of 2005’s Battlefield 2, and this setting was decided by Electronic Arts and DICE a few years ago… they just didn’t want to immediately use the WWII bullet, which is why they first focused on the first, 1914-1918 war, and if it would have failed, they could have focused on the 1939-1945 wars. VentureBeat also says that the Battlefield: Bad Company 3 rumors with its Vietnamese war setting are false, but DICE would do something similar in a future installment. As all these information are not confirmed, take them with a grain of salt.

We’ll see, as we always say – apparently, the game will be revealed during the Spring, and we’re sure that EA Play in June would have a major focus on this game, just like Battlefield 1 had the same approach two years ago.
