Is Electronic Arts Offering A Job To Work On Visceral’s Star Wars Game?

Electronic Arts Vancouver is working on an „open-world” Star Wars game. Let’s remember this studio name.

One of the disappointments from Electronic Arts last year was that they closed Visceral, who previously worked on the Dead Space series for example. They were working on a Star Wars game under the guidance of Amy Hennig (Uncharted!). This game was moved over to… EA Vancouver who has a job listing here for an „open-world” Star Wars title. What a coincidence.

The applicants would work with „a veteran team to design, architect, and implement the online infrastructure,” and they should have „experience implementing online features such as matchmaking, asynchronous interactions, live services, and server-host migration.” They would also have to „ensure designs will maintain high-traffic services for multi-platform games.”

Going by the previous paragraph, it’s safe to say that this game will have microtransactions, as the term live services means that, and that’s usually a bad sign…
