A survey and an interview revealed a few new things…
SEGA Nerds reports that a few lucky players who acquired Yakuza 6: The Song of Life got invited to fill a survey. We’d like to quote one question: „While no localization has been announced at this time, how interested are you in the Fist of the North Star game created by the developers of Yakuza?” (That’d be Hokuto Ga Gotoku.) That feels like they are planning something, and seeing how Yakuza is slowly gaining popularity in the West; there’s a chance that SEGA will bring over the Fist of the North Star game, too!
What next, though? DualShockers reports about an interview conducted by Weekly Famitsu, a Japanese magazine. They interviewed Haruki Satomi, the CEO of SEGA Sammy. He said that the company would like to challenge new IPs on all platforms (including arcades, consoles, mobile, and possibly PC), and he admitted that the Yakuza studio is already developing a brand new IP, which is possibly being made alongside Shin Yakuza, which was previously officially announced.
So, SEGA is looking into the future. It’s good. For us, it’s – obviously – great.
