Dark Waters Ahead for the New Star Wars Series: Tales of the Underworld Sets Sail on Disney+ May 4 [VIDEO]

MOVIE NEWS – To the delight of fans, the newest series from the legendary universe, Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld, is arriving soon. Dave Filoni created the brand-new animated short film anthology from Lucasfilm and will premiere exclusively on Disney+ — perfectly timed for the biggest Star Wars celebration, on May 4.

The popular series — which began in 2022 with Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi and continued in 2024 with Star Wars: Tales of the Empire, now explores the galaxy’s dark side and criminal underworld through the eyes of two iconic characters. Former assassin and bounty hunter Asajj Ventress is given a second chance at life — but to survive, she must flee alongside an unexpected ally. Meanwhile, the feared outlaw Cad Bane must confront his past when he encounters an old acquaintance, now serving as a marshal on the other side of the law.

Dave Filoni created the series. He also serves as executive producer with Athena Yvette Portillo and Carrie Beck. Josh Rimes is co-executive producer, Alex Spotswood is the producer, and Matt Michnovetz is the writer.

May 4 holds special significance for Star Wars fans, having become a day of celebration for the global fan community. The date, inspired by the pun “May the 4th be with you,” is celebrated worldwide with screenings, themed events, and the release of new content — and every year, Disney+ contributes with a special premiere to mark the occasion.

This time, Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld will further enrich the streaming service’s offerings, making it a perfect choice for a holiday marathon, as all six episodes will become available simultaneously on Disney+.
