Gearbox Is Working On A New Franchise „For All Ages!”

What a bold statement by the makers of Borderlands.

John Vignocchi has recently joined Gearbox as an executive producer, and on Twitter, he announced that he’s working on a „tent-pole” franchise. It means it’s going to be a product meant to improve the financial status of the studio, not as a blockbuster, major project. So Vignocchi is working on a side-project, and he revealed a minor detail about it on Twitter:

„We will be working on something that we hope will surprise and delight gamers of all ages; whether you’re six or sixty… And I cannot wait to share more!”

Vignocchi was previously the executive producer for Disney Infinity, one of the frontrunners of the toys-and-videogames genre, although that franchise has been long gone. Gearbox might copy this formula, but who knows what they could be up to – they might follow Fortnite as well.

So, Randy Pitchford and his team are working on more than just Borderlands 3 at the moment…
