The social media site might have overreacted things a bit…
Twitter can lock down, ban accounts that harmlessly use specific terms. TheFatConsol3R has also got the banhammer: Twitter thought that this account had posted a violent threat on their profile… even though the tweet said this: „Looks like I’m gonna be killing Sean Bean tonight then.”
This comment was nothing more than a reference to Hitman 2‘s first Elusive Target, which will be available until December 4, featuring Sean Bean‘s character. The tweet was not a violent threat whatsoever, which is why it wasn’t surprising to see the ban getting lifted, as TheFatConsol3R later posted something else on their profile: „I HAVE RETURNED FROM THE DEAD.”
Automatization could have positives indeed, but it could also have downsides to it, too – we saw an example of the latter here. Let’s hope Sean Bean will not get more „victims,” or is it his sarcastic way of revenge? It’s always Sean Bean who dies, but now he’s the one that stays alive?
