Mega Man 12? Mega Man X9? What will it be?
On ResetEra, there’s a discussion going on about Gematsu‘s long post about the Japanese developers’ 2019 ambitions. Kazuhiro Tsuchiya, the producer of Mega Man 11, also talked about his goals for next year. He said the following on 4Gamer: „In 2018, we were able to release Mega Man 11 safely. This is also a thank-you to all of the game fans. In 2019, I would like to make steady preparations for what’s next, so there may not be any major action, but I hope you can all watch over me with warm eyes…!”
This comment means that something is in progress, and it’s unlikely to be released in 2019. 2020 looks reasonable, and that year suggests it could also be a next-gen title at this point. Tsuchiya is likely in a pre-production phase for the next months before significant development can be started.
How much of a surprise would it be if it would be Mega Man Legends 3, which got a demo back in the day on the Nintendo 3DS?
