Nintendo Switch Hacker Arrested in the United Kingdom

The pirate sold mods that allowed to launch to the console pirated games from a hard disk.

According to the City of London Police, a 43-year-old man has been arrested and subsequently released for a piracy offense after offering modification services for the Nintendo Switch.

According to official information, on Tuesday, December 4, PIPCU officials executed a court order and arrested and warned an inhabitant of Rotterdam Road in relation to crimes of copyright infringement. In the place of detention, hard drives, microchips and computer equipment were seized that the detainee used to modify the Nintendo Switches of the individuals who requested their services in exchange for a fee. This violation of the Nintendo patent allowed users to run games on the console from external media, which are often downloaded from the Internet.

The police call attention to the consequences of piracy and its impact on the industry, and warns that users of these downloaded files may contain malware or viruses that can infect personal computers.
