The next FromSoftware game will offer lots of replayability with more than one ending.
GameWatch, a Japanese publication, interviewed Hidetaka Miyazaki (the CEO of FromSoftware, as well as the director of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice) at Taipei Game Show 2019. Here, he revealed that the game will come with multiple endings, and they will be rooted in the story, unlike in their previous games. He added that as we replay Sekiro more and more, the difficulty will be harder each time we start over, meaning we might end up throwing the controller at a wall as we try to get that last ending in the game…
Regarding speedruns, Miyazaki said that since his first directed game (the PlayStation 3-exclusive Demon’s Souls), FromSoftware hasn’t designed a game that came with built-in RTA (real-time attack) speedrun support. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice will be no exception – you’ll have to get third-party solutions (timer, checkpoints for bosses, and the like…) to keep track of your time to beat the game. However, Miyazaki added that he enjoys watching RTA speedruns of games.
Activision will publish Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice on March 22 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
