If you like Telltale’s games, and prefer to enjoy them without DRM or using a client, but not have them yet, hurry up and get them from GOG, as they will delist them in less than a few days!
GOG announced on its forums that all remaining listed – and thus, available – Telltale games will be delisted on Monday, at 10 AM UTC. (12 PM in Europe, 5 AM on the East Coast, and 2 AM on the West Coast.) The reasoning? „Due to [the] company’s closure.” They also mentioned the list of titles that are about to bid farewell to the storefront: The Wolf Among Us (which sadly won’t be continued, although there were plans), Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, Hector: Badge of Carnage, Batman: The Telltale Series, Batman: The Enemy Within, Sam & Max Save The World, Sam & Max Beyond Time and Space, Sam & Max: The Devil’s Playhouse, Nelson Tethers: Puzzle Agent, Puzzle Agent 2, Tales from the Borderlands, and Strong Bad’s Cool Game for Attractive People. Let’s hope we didn’t miss anyone – you might be not familiar with a few of these games, as they were made before 2012, when the first season of The Walking Dead came out. (Back to the Future and Jurassic Park disappeared around November.)
Fortunately, if you have bought any of these games, you will still be able to access them from your personal library. One exception on this list is there, though: 2K sent a statement to Eurogamer, saying that they are „working to get Tales from the Borderlands back up on digital storefronts as soon as possible.” (It’s been delisted from Steam, too.)
This situation happened because Telltale Games was unable to find new financing, and thus, their games are going to disappear. What a shame. Eight franchises will go poof, and all we can do is report about it…
