More Details Revealed About Square Enix’ And Crystal Dynamics’ Avengers Game

Avengers, which has been in development at Crystal Dynamics (with Eidos Montreal supporting the team) was announced in early 2017, from which we wrote yesterday that the Japanese publisher will show it during its E3 program. Now we can add more, official (!) details to it.

The E3 Coliseum website has a synopsis about the game, which follows: „Embrace your powers and join key members of the development team at Crystal Dynamics and the creative team at Marvel Games as they talk exclusively about the upcoming Marvel’s Avengers. This is the defining Avengers gaming experience: an epic action-adventure that combines cinematic storytelling with continuous single-player and co-operative gameplay. Moderated by Andrea Rene, assemble in teams up to four players, master extraordinary abilities, customize your heroes to fit your playstyle, and combine powers to defend an ever-expanding world under constant threat.”

Well, it seems we weren’t that far off with our guesses yesterday. So we can play the game alone, or with three friends in some cooperative action. It does sound a bit like BioWare’s Anthem, or Destiny 2 by Bungie, which has become independent recently. The team seemed to need some time to figure out cooperative action-based gameplay because when the game was announced in 2017, they said we can expect more details in 2018, which never happened. There might have been tough times behind the scenes…

So in two weeks, we’ll know more about Marvel’s The Avengers, which is possibly coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, with a potential fall 2019 or early 2020 release date. However, the game might need more time, and thus, it could be a launch title on the next-gen PlayStation and Xbox, although about THIS subject, we’re still in the dark.
