Chinese FFXIV players are eating inhuman piles of KFC to earn Chocobos

All this food for a Chocobo in FFXIV…

On Reddit, a translation of a Chinese KFC marketing move was published, where a lot of fast food, enough for four people, have to be eaten right there, all to get one Fat Black Chocobo code for Final Fantasy XIV. So far, that doesn’t sound too bad, does it? Let us list then what you have to eat: 1 Double Chicken Burger, 1 Vegan Mushroom Burger, 1 5-piece Chicken Nuggets, 2 Original Recipe Chicken, 1 2-piece New Orland Chicken Wings, 1 Old Beijing Spicy Duck Roll, 2 Pepsi (Large), 2 Peach Oolong Tea (Large). That’s for one person. Now multiply it by four. As we said, you have to eat a lot of food for one code! So if you have a four-player team, you’d have to repeat this meal three more times! Of course, there were successful hungry participants, as well as someone soloing all this food. Let’s admit it: even for an American audience, this much food would be a tough cookie, and they have been way more into fast food than China.

You have to eat all of that. It’s a lot, and we don’t even know how much it would cost (probably not that much, as there might be some price regulations in China). In the following images, you can see someone being called a pig by a lady next to him (let’s face it, that’s a good point), and on another screenshot, someone went to the toilet, only to see their meal entirely taken away by KFC and getting replaced by a new dose.

So Square Enix is pushing hard in China with this KFC deal, because MMORPGs are traditionally widely accepted in that country, especially on PC. You have to perform some tricks to eat everything on the spot.
