Is Rockstar Games Working On A Medieval Project?

If there’s a studio that doesn’t tend to talk much about its games that have had several settings in the past, it’s Rockstar Games.

From the 1940s to the Old West, Rockstar has done several titles in multiple eras, and now, a medieval game could be in development at them, if we can believe Pawas Saxena’s LinkedIn profile, which was discussed on Reddit. Let’s see why Rockstar India’s employee got attention: „Job responsibilities: Creating modular environment pieces with organic finish carefully following medieval architecture style.” (And, as always, it got taken off since. The Internet never forgets, and people will never learn.)

Previously, Pawas Saxena worked for Dhruva Interactive. This studio got recently acquired into Rockstar India (it happened about half a year ago), so Saxena might have been making something medieval at Dhruva until Rockstar possibly came in and wiped the project off the table. Or maybe not? Here’s another Reddit post that we will quote:

„Obligatory take [it] with [a] grain of salt, etc. The source I’m getting this from has been right about Grand Theft Auto Online DLC and Red Dead Redemption 2 story details (before it released). [I] don’t want to say more than that for obvious reasons. Rockstar’s next game will not be Bully 2 or Grand Theft Auto VI. They are developing an open-world game with a medieval setting. Swordfighting/duelling will be a mechanic. Release date aimed for Q1 2021. [Its] announcement isn’t that long away. [It] sounds crazy, and you have no reason to believe me, but as I said, they have been very reliable before. I fully believe time will prove me right. Asking me anything more is pretty useless as I don’t know anything other than what I’ve said.”

If the post isn’t wrong, and the game will be indeed announced shortly, will it happen in the alleged February PlayStation 5 reveal that other rumours also mentioned? We’ll see.
