The name of the next generation of Xbox is simply ‘Xbox’

Microsoft clarifies that the name Series X leaves room for additional consoles in the future for Xbox consoles.

When the new Xbox was presented last week at The Game Awards 2019 there were different reactions regarding the choice of its name, although it was not difficult to deduce that the word “Series” was hinting that it was only a specific model of different options that Microsoft would offer its consumers during the next generation.

A new statement of representatives of the company comes to clarify things a bit about it. In a statement to Business Insider, the Redmond confirmed that the name of the next generation of consoles of the brand is simply “Xbox. ”

“The name that the next generation will have is simply Xbox and in The Game Awards they saw it come alive through Xbox Series X”, Quote the statement. “Similar to what fans have seen in past generations, the name Xbox Series X leaves room for additional consoles in the future,” they said.

With this confirmation, the next generation of Microsoft consoles would share the same name as its first console, something that does not precisely coincide with the statements that ensured that the final name of Project Scarlett would clearly reflect the capabilities of the new console.

“We are excited to offer fans a look at the next generation of video games with Xbox Series X, but beyond that, we have nothing else to declare,” said the statement that, although it shows that the company would have plans to present More console models, hold the position of only talking about Series X at the moment.

Could 2020 be a year in which we see some other model that accompanies Series X at the time of its release? It’s hard to know for now, but at least the name of the next generation of Microsoft consoles has become completely clear. To learn more about the new Xbox you can check our special note about it.
