What about the new generation consoles? Will it somehow affect the success of the video game? The head of the study is clear: nothing is further from reality.

The team after The Witcher saga does not believe that coinciding with the new consoles will affect their long-awaited Cyberpunk 2077, which will also be compatible from the first day with Xbox Series X and of course also on PlayStation 5 . “This new generation is different from the previous one,” says the head of the study, Adam Kicinski, remembering that there will be backward compatibility from the first moment, and that it also provides certain graphic improvements to compatible games, so facing the developer This “is more of an opportunity” than something negative per se.

“In fact we see it as an opportunity because our audience will be both users of current platforms, as well as those of new generation consoles,” he adds. “And we hope to be the biggest or one of the biggest releases from that particular moment, so it can help us” by having a larger target audience. However, he clarifies, CD Projekt will work on a large free update that is not yet dated, but that will be before the end of the year, which will create an improved version of Cyberpunk 2077 for Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5, so it is still expected that the Polish studio noticeably improves the graphics of its RPG.

The first version compatible with the new generation “will look better from the first day,” explains the manager of CD Projekt, who did not want to go into detail what graphic improvements will show although other titles of the style have already confirmed higher resolution and better rate of images per second among others. “What I can confirm is that this is not going to be the final update. At some point, we will release a more robust update for the new generation, which we plan to offer for free to anyone who has purchased the PS4 and Xbox One versions, but in any case, you will be able to enjoy Cyberpunk on next-gen consoles from November 19, and it looks better than the current game. ”

What about expansions and multiplayer?

In the past, the CD Projekt team announced that Cyberpunk 2077 will have expansions in the style of what we saw in The Witcher 3, in addition to a multiplayer mode. Asked about these future contents, Adam Kicinski confirms that just as the base video game has been delayed, “so have the expansions.”

Cyberpunk 2077 expansions are delayed but offer no further data. The study highlights that “no specific announcement had yet been made about when the Cyberpunk 2077 expansions are planned, but they do emphasize that” they will come later “. As for the multiplayer, “its launch will also be delayed proportionally. Although the multiplayer was in itself somewhat more distant, so this is a thing of the future.” Do not forget that some time ago there was already speculation with a launch of the multiplayer of Cyberpunk 2077 in the year 2022.
