Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time: Crash Is Getting A New Game!

The title does not have a question mark in it: even Activision Blizzard is hinting at it.

The Taiwan Digital Game Rating Committee has rated the unannounced Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It’s developed by Toys For Bob, who you might remember from Spyro Reignited Trilogy (which contains the first three Spyro The Dragon games from the original PlayStation). There’s also a short description of the game:

„Crash is relaxing and exploring his island in his time, 1998, when he finds a mysterious mask hidden away in a cave, Lani-Loli. The mask is one of the Quantum Masks and knows Aku-Aku, Crash’s mask friend! With the Quantum Masks returning and a Quantum Rift appearing near our heroes, they decide to bravely head through to different times and dimensions to stop whoever is responsible.” Two things. One, 1998 (October and December in North America and Europe, respectively) is when Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped was released on PS1. Two, we’ll bet a dollar on Neo Cortex behind all this. Also, the title is a very clever wordplay. It’s about time could hint as a long-awaited return of the box-breaking bandicoot, and it’s also could be interpreted as a reference to time travelling. Here’s the box art that confirms Xbox Series X compatibility as well…

Activision Blizzard has already started the marketing. Before Spyro Reignited Trilogy got announced, they sent a scaly purple egg to members of the press with the note „Something’s about to hatch.” Before Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled was confirmed, they sent a fuzzy red dice with the message, „Sliding into The Game Awards on 12/6.” Guess what, they now sent the press a 200-piece puzzle with the message, „A little something to help you pass the TIME,” (another solid wordplay there…) signed by „Your Favorite Bandicoot.” The mask is the same that was briefly seen in a PlayStation 4 promotional video in November.

Get ready to break the boxes. However, in Japan, Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex (PS2/Xbox/GameCube) was released with the number 4 in the title

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title.
