Will Fable Not Be An MMO? [VIDEO]

While Microsoft doesn’t want to say anything else about Fable since it got announced, there are rumours of it potentially being an MMO, while others claim the opposite.

A French journalist wrote on Twitter that the new Fable, called Fable (as there are many series recently that like to reboot themselves with no number in the title), is not going to be Fable 4 but an MMO in the game’s universe. He previously correctly leaked the games that were shown during the Xbox Games Showcase. This is just one half of the story – the other half includes WindowsCentral’s Jes Corden, claiming Fable is NOT an MMO, and that Halo Infinite is going to launch with multiplayer despite what other rumours say (we’ll get back to this game later in the news). Klobrille says „Fable is an open-world Action-RPG. People need to stop with this MMO nonsense. Even if there potentially will be online interactions similar to FH4, it’s not an MMO.”

Fable is being developed by Playground Games, which confirms the rumours that showed up at least a year ago – this is why the team behind the Forza Horizon series has opened a second studio. The announcement post says almost nothing about the game. It’s „a new beginning for the legendary franchise,” where players will „explore a land of fantastical creatures and wondrous places.” That’s all, and the teaser video (which we embed in case you missed it) doesn’t say much about Fable either.

The game is in development for Xbox Series X and PC. Since it has no release date, it is likely a year or two away from launch, meaning there’s no chance it’s going to get an Xbox One version. Let’s hope that this game will be finished unlike Fable Legends, the IP’s previous try (developed by the original team, Lionhead Studios).
