Is CD Projekt RED Preparing For Yet Another Cyberpunk 2077 Delay?

It’d be the fourth delay, and the Poles don’t seem to outright deny it either.

Cyberpunk 2077 is getting more and more ridiculous with the delays by CD Projekt RED, and the latest one (pushing it from November to December…) was due to the current-gen consoles, the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One, which is why we should call the first-person RPG a next-gen title at this point (and let’s not forget how it was announced during the PS3/X360 era…). Now, a weird Twitter account kickstarted more rumours:

„Uhhhhhhhhhhhh… So, what if Cyberpunk 2077 gets delayed… Again. Like what if it doesn’t launch this year. Like uh, until 2021. Just asking…”

This delaying has been a trend once again, so we wouldn’t be surprised if the person behind the @HotGirlVideos69 handle (we told you that it’s a weird account) might be knowing something. Then, IGN contacted CD Projekt RED about this, and their statement doesn’t seem to clear things up that much: „As a rule, we don’t comment on rumours or speculation, but I will confirm we were just taking time to update all of our assets to reflect the new launch date of December 10th.”

The problem is that before the third delay, CD Projekt RED said that a few weeks ago that the November launch is confirmed and nothing will change it, then a single day later, they pushed the game back to December 10, so we have all the rights to be doubtful. Vice‘s report adds that the @HotGirlVideos69 said a week before the official announcement that E3 is getting cancelled this year due to the coronavirus.

But they also responded to CD Projekt RED’s IGN statement: „I guess CDPR updated their profile yesterday to double down on December 10 after the rumour we heard went kind of nuts on a couple of sites. Still not convinced. Hearing bad stuff internally that there will likely be another delay till January 2021.”

We’ll see – it could happen… but what will the excuse be this time?
